Motivational Monday - Moves at Home

So, it’s been a while since we started living our versions of the new normal, our new ‘best lives’. We have mostly adjusted to how things work, and many of us are doing pretty well - under the circumstances. Go you! But the reality is Mondays still exist and let’s be honest, no one likes Mondays.

Motivational Mondays with Shield is here to help you get moving, confidently. This doesn’t mean endless sets of squats, burpees and star-jumps - unless that’s your thing. For us, Motivational Monday is an opportunity to show up at your best, whatever that looks like, and the greatest part about that is you don’t even have to leave the house.

From your bedroom floor to the kitchen, you don’t need to be in a gym to take up this fitness challenge - it’s all about easy home workouts to help you start your week.

When we say workouts, what we really mean is activities - because most importantly, this should be a fun way to kick off your week. With Monday motivation moves, we will share some home-based moving activities that will help you get motivated for the week ahead, with confidence. Jog, grab your skipping rope or even hit a few stretches right in the comfort of your own home.

Keep an eye on Instagram over the next few weeks to see some well-known faces who will motivate you to move for 30 seconds every day, starting with #MondayMotivationMoves. Watch this space for inspiration from the likes of Kamo Mphela, Amanda du Pont, Rushda Moosajee and Sarah Langa.

Here are some tips on how you can make it work for you:

  1. Keep your home workouts short, simple and fun!
  2. Share an Instagram video of your Monday motivation moves using the hashtags #beautyathomewithu #mondaymotivation #movemoreathome.
  3. Challenge your friends and loved ones to get involved.
  4. Move, however it feels good!
  5. Listen to some great tunes - get going with a great workout playlist, because music is a fantastic way to get motivated.
  6. Keep an eye out to get in on our giveaways.

So, show what you’re made of in this brave new world - give us a snapshot of how you move at home to prepare and stay motivated for the week ahead. Show up, lean in and show us your moves.

If you are busy but are still looking for ways to get active and stay fresh, a quick Hitt workout at home is ideal.
